Under Screen Conveyors

Under Screen Conveyors

Shaft deflection, highly contaminated environment with high-pressure washdown

The transfer conveyor is often located underneath an aggressive screening process with very fine materials. Frequently, the tail section of the conveyor is washed out with a high-pressure hose to remove debris. In addition, framework misalignment can cause shaft deflection. Combined, these issues can significantly reduce bearing life.

In the case of one Midwest processor, bearing failures were occurring every six to eight weeks, shutting down the screen and reducing plant uptime.

Sealmaster® RPB-307-2 heavy duty tapered roller bearings

The Sealmaster RPB bearings have run continuously for 24 months with no failures or unplanned shutdowns.
