Carmen Ek: This is Community News On The Air, brought to you by Regal® Power Transmission Solutions. I'm your host, Carmen Ek, and in this podcast series we'll be sharing tools, tips and new innovations to address some of the tough challenges our customers face. Overall, my goal is to help our customers' employees be successful.

I'm really excited about today's podcast. My guest is my friend and colleague Dawn Williams, a marketing specialist with Regal Power Transmission Solutions. She's been working hard on a new app called the Regal PT Mobile App. This is a robust asset management tool. And I'm excited to hear more about it today.

Dawn, welcome to Community News On The Air.

Dawn Williams: Hey, Carmen. Thanks for having me. I really appreciate it. We're super excited to be rolling out the Regal PT Mobile App, and I really appreciate the opportunity to come on here and talk about it.

Carmen Ek: Yeah, we're glad to have you, Dawn. So glad you're here is well.

So I've checked out the introductory video on this new app, and it can really address some of the challenges that our customer's face. And for those of you who are listening, you can check out this video at www.regalbeloit.com/pts-community-news.

So Dawn, let's begin with you giving us some of the details. For starters, who will benefit from using this app? And what are some of the advantages that they'll receive by downloading it?

Dawn Williams: Yeah, Carmen, this app is really ideal for maintenance managers and their team. One challenge can be keeping track of product warranties. So with this app, the maintenance team has the ability to use the app to scan the barcode on the box to register their bearing for an additional 12 months on their standard product warranty, which brings it from one year to two years. They can also start scheduling maintenance reminders and get push notifications when maintenance is ready to be performed on the specific bearings that they want to have registered.

Carmen Ek: So Dawn, once a user registers, will it allow them to get notifications to keep track of the bearings that they have installed on their equipment?

Dawn Williams: Yeah. What happens is that a customer will scan the barcode that is on the Sealmaster® , McGill®, Browning® or Rollway® bearing box, and they'll go through the registration process. During this process, users will input details specific to that bearing, such as installation location and address of the plant. Once they complete that process, they can go in and set maintenance reminders for those bearings in specific locations and enable push notifications to their phone that will allow them to be notified when maintenance is ready to be performed.

Carmen Ek: Very cool. And I heard you mention all of our bearing brands. This is called the Regal PT Mobile App. Is this app only available right now for our bearing products?

Dawn Williams: Yeah. This app includes all Sealmaster, McGill, Browning and Rollway bearing products. Further on down the road, we'll add more of the Regal PT products to the app. That way it becomes more robust for our customers.

Carmen Ek: That's awesome. Very good.

What are some of the other features in the Regal PT Mobile App?

Dawn Williams: Some of the other features are a product search so you can look up product-specific information, a smart interchange tool which allows you to do a competitive interchange right in the field, an ROI calculator, some conversion tools, troubleshooting guides and videos, and installation and maintenance documents that allow you to answer critical questions right on the spot.

In addition, all that we have links going to our online resources and contact information for engineering and customer service, really giving our customers that asset management tool right in the palm of their hands. That way, they don't have to go elsewhere looking for the answers.

Carmen Ek: I really love that. One of the things I really like is that we're working hard to help our customers save time. And I can really see this tool helping our customers with that.

Let's talk a little bit about installation. If we have a customer having an issue installing or even selecting a bearing, this tool gives them the opportunity to reach out to application engineering right within the app, is that correct?

Dawn Williams: Yeah, you can access the phone number and email address for our application engineering team. So whichever contact method you prefer, you can contact them pretty much instantly.

Carmen Ek: That's awesome.

So Dawn, let's talk about bearing lubrication and other possible bearing maintenance. Will the app give the user a heads up to lubrication schedules and other maintenance that the bearing might need?

Dawn Williams: Yeah, Carmen. Most of our customers have hundreds of components in their plants which need regular maintenance. Managing that schedule can be awfully time consuming. So this app helps by sending out the push notifications based off the maintenance schedule that you have set up. And once they've performed that maintenance on the bearing, they can input notes and share those notes via email at any time, so they always have a log record of what they've been doing.

Carmen Ek: I could see that being really beneficial.

And then how about logging into this app? Can you tell me about how you would log in? And also, if you could touch on the information of our customers -- is that private?

Dawn Williams: Yeah. So in order to register your bearings, you must have an Edge online user ID and password, which is the same one that you use today to access traditional Edge tools online. If you don't already have an Edge user ID, there's a link within the app so you can register for one.

Once you're signed in, any bearings that you register, they are unique to your user ID. And you know Carmen, it's also worth mentioning that users will be able to access their bearing registrations online as well via our desktop version of the app. This can be found in the Edge tools.

Carmen Ek: Well, Dawn, this app is certainly exciting. I really think a lot of our customers are going to want to download this app and start using it. So tell us what to do. Tell us how we go and download the Regal PT Mobile App.

Dawn Williams: Well, Carmen, this app is only available in the Apple App Store, right now. You can simply go to the App Store and type in Regal PT Mobile App and it should come right up. You can also access the link for the app through our regalbeloit.com website under the tools and resources menu. We plan to roll out an Android version of this app later on in 2020.

Carmen Ek: That's fantastic news.

Dawn, I really appreciate you taking the time to come on here and tell us about this fantastic new tool that can help our maintenance team save them time, help them with their asset management, and ultimately meet their goal of being more productive within their facility and meet all those production goals, as well as their maintenance goals.
