“… due to Regal-Beloit's installed and monitored torque monitoring systems on our reversing steckel mill's main drive spindles, we were able to correspond certain behaviors of the spindles and the torque findings to real life problems with our spindles. We recently had an issue with our spindles that resulted in the work roll sleeve studs shearing, this failure was caught during routine inspections, but upon further investigation it was found to correspond with data that Regal was collecting. The team at Regal have been working together to pinpoint data such as these to give us real world warnings for potentially serious damage occurring as we run. With Regal's help, we are aware whenever certain items may need to be inspected, that before would not have been possible. In the event that this failure occurs again, the data Regal pulls may very well lead us to the problem well before it becomes a serious issue.” -
